Job Title: Regional Human Resource Generalist
Reports To: HR Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Regional HR Generalist is responsible for providing functional and transactional HR support within the assigned territories. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role requires expertise in various HR areas including employment policies and laws, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and employee engagement. Key responsibilities include onboarding, data entry, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Facilitates new hire orientation and maintain current HR systems by processing paperwork and entering new hire information.
- Partners with Corporate HR to provide ongoing HR consulting services to employees and leaders regarding HR programs, practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assists Corporate HR in the development of HR policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with Corporate HR to ensure assigned locations are staffed with the right talent when needed.
- Partners with Corporate HR to manage employee relations and performance issues while ensuring a positive and effective work environment.
- Provides guidance to leaders on employee performance management including coaching, counseling, employee development, and disciplinary actions.
- Handles all unemployment claims for the assigned regions.
- Manages I9 Compliance for all new hires within the region.
- Maintains compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Serves as a back up to other HR Generalists and their assigned regions.
- Travel is required.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The role requires strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in computer applications. Effective problem-solving, multitasking, and the ability to prioritize and organize work are crucial. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to manage tasks independently.
- Minimum three (3) years direct Human Resources Generalist experience in a fast-paced environment required.
- Bachelor’s degree required; BS in Human Resources, Organizational Design, Psychology, or related field is highly desired.
- PHR or SHRM CP certification is preferred.
- Experience in construction or manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Ability to maintain effective and positive business relationships with all levels of staff and to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
