Job Title: CAD Engineer, Restraint Systems

Location: Southfield, MI Onsite

Duration: 12 months

Job Description: We are seeking a CAD Engineer with expertise in restraint systems to join our team in Southfield, MI. The ideal candidate will support the design and development of automotive restraint systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop 3D CAD models for automotive restraint systems (airbags, seat belts, etc.).
• Create detailed engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and specifications.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and testing, to ensure the feasibility of designs.
• Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturing capabilities.
• Perform simulations and analyses (such as crash simulations) to validate designs.
• Support the release and implementation of design changes and modifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Continuously optimize designs for performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2 years of experience in CAD design, specifically in automotive restraint systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (preferably CATIA or SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of automotive safety standards (e.g., FMVSS, ECE regulations).
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with automotive restraint system testing and validation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
