Position Overview:
Invincible Boats is seeking a dedicated and proactive EHS Coordinator to oversee all building-related activities while maintaining responsibility for ensuring that the facilities are safe and well- functioning. This position will lead all tasks related to safety and environmental hazards in the workplace as well as administrative needs for recordkeeping, audits, permits, and worker’s compensation for EHS. Interdepartmental support is required to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and assist with energy management.
- Control activities like waste disposal, building security etc.
- Maintain ongoing communication with contractors, clients, and team.
- Assist with review of accidents and incidents which occur along with assisting with reporting the corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of EHS Training Plans, Policies and Procedures.
- Coordinate and present training programs in general safety and facility training and/or specialty areas including but not limited to: Crane and Hoist, LOTO, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, Incident Response, Emergency Preparedness, Hot Work, and others as deemed necessary for the safe operation of the facility.
- Working knowledge in Title V inspections and compliance.
- Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
- Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training.
- Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety, this will require experience with digital filing systems as well as traditional paper filing systems as required by specific regulations.
- Monitor industry regulatory issues.
- Participate in institutional professional development and training.
- Participate in the development of safety guidelines and related environmental health and safety communications and educational information.
- Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
- Provide advice, assist, and work with department management to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
- Act as the Lead and participate in safety committees/councils as well as first responder programs.
- Support facility growth and expansion.
Qualifications:
- MUST BE BILINGUAL (Spanish/English)
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
- Must be well-organized, detailed, and self-sufficient.
- Solid experience in regulatory codes and requirements OSHA, EPA, BWC etc.
- Experience with Title V Air Permitting and recordkeeping.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Safety preferred, or equivalent professional level experience and combined education.
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent related functions
