Overview
The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality administrative and operational support to the HR function on a day-to-day basis. This role will be involved with the onboarding and offboarding of new hires and contingent workers, data integrity projects and being at the forefront of employee questions, comments, and concerns. An employee in this role should aim to be a trusted member of the HR team and foster positive relationships among the employees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute new hire onboarding process, including background checks, I-9 verifications, and new hire orientation.
- Work with IT/Quality/EH&S/Procurement/Finance for onboard/ offboard processing.
- Support internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department and escalate to appropriate team members as needed.
- Coordinate bi-weekly HR Payroll data submission support.
- Collaborate with our Payroll department to resolve employees’ questions.
- Enter new hires, terminations, and any employee changes into appropriate systems (ADP, HRIS, etc.).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, document retention and confidentiality standards.
- Prepare employee offboarding and related documentation.
- Assist with the coordination of employee events and activities.
- Represent the HR team by providing excellent customer service, building, and maintaining positive working relationships with the employees, and providing support to other functions within HR as needed.
- Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- BA/BS degree and 3 years prior experience in Human Resources Operations.
- Exceptional time management, organizational, prioritization and follow-up skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the proven ability to think situationally
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Natural self-starter and problem solver that takes the initiative to solve issues.
Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- Payroll reporting.
- HRIS experience (BambooHR/ADP).

Physical Demands and Activities Required
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional or remote office environment and requires operating standard office equipment and keyboards.
