Job Summary
The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for delivering innovative and creative designs for print, digital, and web platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of brand standards and guidelines, strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and effective management of the design team's projects and tasks.
Principal Responsibilities
Create and deliver unique and engaging designs, concepts, and layouts for various mediums including print, digital (email, social media, ads), and websites, ensuring alignment with branding guidelines.
Maintain and enhance brand standards and guidelines through personal and team contributions.
Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers.
Collaborate with the marketing team to discuss and understand business objectives and design requirements from conception to completion.
Manage the design team's project calendar to ensure timely completion of key business deadlines; communicate with the marketing team and other stakeholders to update and manage the team's workload.
Lead the organization and maintenance of design drive folders, ensuring all artwork files and final creative assets are clearly named, filed, and accessible.
Stay updated on relevant and new design techniques, technologies, and print tools, and share this knowledge with direct reports.
Ensure all design work, including special projects, is completed on time and within budget, and that any external print orders are cost-effective and necessary.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of graphic design experience.
Relevant post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with video and motion graphics, Adobe After Effects, and digital animation.
Knowledge of printing requirements, including prepress and press approvals.
Familiarity with the latest design methods, practices, techniques, and principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Previous experience in managing people or graphic designers is an asset but not required.
