Job Summary
The Senior Learning & Development Specialist is a key member of the Learning & Development Team. This person is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of various learning solutions or programs, which support IPEX’s overall business objectives and learning & development strategy. This role has the additional responsibility of supporting learning solutions and programs for more senior audiences (managers or senior leaders), coaching more junior L&D Team members, as well as overseeing department standards and processes.
Principal Responsibilities
The Senior L&D Specialist’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Consult with HR leaders, HR COE’s, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to develop short, and long-term learning solutions or programs, that support the achievement of organizational goals and strategy.
Oversee L&D department’s quality standards and overall processes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
Act as a coach for Learning & Development Specialists and Coordinators to help build strong functional skills across the team.
Lead the design and delivery of learning solutions or programs, using a variety of tools and methods - these include eLearning, Videos, Micro-learning, Virtual Instructor-led sessions, webinars, and in-person classroom sessions to achieve desired business outcomes.
The programs supported will focus on more senior audiences in the organization such as managers and senior leaders.
Review content designed by other L&D team members and provide feedback to improve learning activities.
Support the launch of new learning programs, from beginning to end, including needs analysis, instructional design, content integration, learning delivery, session facilitation, measuring effectiveness, and project management.
Monitor and measure learning outcomes as well as adjust solutions or programs based on changing business needs to drive continuous improvement
Stay current on L&D trends and provide recommendations for ongoing improvements.
Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of a learning culture within the organization
May travel up to 20% to support various programs.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certificates
University degree/certificate in Education, Adult Learning, or equivalent L&D experience
Human Resources Management Certification is preferred.
Certification in behavioural assessment (DISC) an asset
Technical Skills & Experience
7 years of combined experience in a Learning & Development role.
Mastery of full-cycle L&D processes (ADDIE model)
2 years in a manufacturing environment
Native proficiency in spoken/written English and French.
Very strong presentation and facilitation skills.
Experience coaching individuals preferred.
Strong computer skills and understanding of various learning technologies.
Mastery of eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate.
Expert-level knowledge using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Knowledge of virtual delivery tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex.
Previous Project Management experience preferred.
