What are the responsibilities and job description for the BIM Lead position at IPS - Integrated Project Services, LLC?
At IPS, you will apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people by solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a dedicated BIM Group Lead to join our talented team based out of any of our U.S. office locations (MA, NJ, PA, NC, KS).
In this role, you will provide leadership of technical discipline and direct the day-to-day operational activities of their assigned Group staff. You will also be responsible for the delivery of target gross margin profits of the department. Additionally, you will manage staffing activities, including recruiting, retention, and development of department staff.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of overall work as to engineering, and compliance with established IPS standards and procedures.
- Develop and ensure implementation of standards and tools to ensure department output meets or exceeds established quality and performance expectations.
- Produce drawings consistent with instructions, guidelines, and BIM standards.
- Provide all other engineering & design support tasks including but not limited to: processing shop drawings, comments, and computer-aided drafting & design.
- Work on complex assignments independently, with attention to detail, and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues; involve others in decisions when needed.
- Work with project managers and design managers at the start of a project by recommending the appropriate software tools and project execution methodology.
- Communicate with engineers, architects, and/or clients to take delivery of and convert submitted drawings for use by all disciplines.
- Produce drawings consistent with instructions, guidelines, and IPS design standards.
- Set up and prepare models for the design teams according to IPS BIM standards.
- Work with design teams to draft and prepare models from digital or paper blueprints.
- Perform model reviews and coordination reviews of all the project models Architectural and MEP.
- Create, maintain, and enforce Revit families according to IPS BIM standards.
- Provide all other Engineering and design support tasks including but not limited to: processing shop drawing comments and computer-aided drafting & design.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5-7 years of Life Sciences Industry and design experience.
- A Bachelor/Associate/Technical degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Revit experience in both Revit Arch. and MEP is a plus as well as proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software (Microstation, AutoCAD P&ID, Plant 3D).
- Knows how to create Revit families, templates, lookup tables, shared parameters, create custom schedules, and draft details from CAD components.
- Working knowledge of file-sharing software (DOC360, Glue, BIM360).
- Customer service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals (co-workers, clients, vendors) at all levels.
Context, Environment, & Safety
- Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time, based on project location/requirements.
This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
