SUMMARY :
The Import / Export assistant will work with Import / Export coordinator to manage the entire import and export business for the company by ensuring the timely process of purchase orders / shipping documents and ensure that the company complies all CBP Rules and Regulations.
The incumbent will be trained to communicate with Foreign Manufacturers, CBP Officers, Customs Brokers, and Freight Forwarders to ensure sustainability in the company’s chain and must exhibit a strong understanding of import and export processes.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following :
- Review ISF data, reconcile with booking, provide correct HTS codes, and send to broker for filing
- Prepare shipping documents for import shipments
- Track import shipments from origin through empty container return
- Analyze entry summary and to be able to make recommendations for Post Summary Correction’s (PSC)
- Audit invoices furnished by steamship lines, forwarders, inland carriers, and brokers
- Communicate Forwarder to process and cycle of export shipments
- Create commercial invoices and packing lists for shipments
- Assist different departments with Import and Export needs
- Categorize items using the HTSUS and advice product costing team on duty rates for current items
- Effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders using multiple tools to ensure effective visual communication
- Perform similar level or nature of duties as assigned
