About the Job:
As a Shop Foreman at Ironclad Environmental Solutions, you will manage the maintenance and repair operations of all rental equipment, ensuring that our fleet is operational, safe, and meeting the highest service standards. You will lead a team of technicians, assign tasks, monitor progress, and uphold safety and quality throughout the shop. Strong leadership, technical skills, and a commitment to operational efficiency are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of technicians and mechanics.
- Assign tasks, manage schedules, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair work.
- Provide ongoing training, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their skills.
- Oversee and participate in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of rental equipment, including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained to meet safety standards and is rental-ready.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies required for repairs and maintenance.
- Manage the ordering process to ensure adequate inventory and minimize downtime.
- Track equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and service history.
- Enforce quality control procedures to ensure all repairs and maintenance meet company standards.
- Conduct final inspections of equipment before returning it to service.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or issues related to equipment performance.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety training and enforce safe work practices within the shop.
- Maintain accurate safety records, including inspections and any incidents.
- Collaborate with rental and operations departments to prioritize equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Communicate equipment status, repair timelines, and any potential delays to the operations team.
- Prepare regular reports on shop activities, equipment conditions, and team performance.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repair work, and inventory levels.
- Prepare and manage the shop's budget, including forecasting and controlling costs.
- Conduct employee evaluations, manage performance, and address employee relations issues.

Qualifications:

- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and industrial environments.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and move for extended periods.
- Primarily shop-based, with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
- Occasional travel to job sites may be required.
