The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial records, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This role involves preparing financial reports, managing month-end and year-end close processes, conducting variance analysis, supporting audits, and working closely with internal departments to enhance financial processes. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial information and providing strategic insights to senior management.
Job Duties :
Specific responsibilities vary depending on the position, but may include :
- Month-End and Year-End Close : Prepare and review journal entries, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting : Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Project and Cost Accounting : Review job cost accounting, including budget updates and fixed asset tracking.
- Audit Support : Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit procedures.
- Tax and Compliance : Ensure alignment with company policies and regulations, and maximize tax deductions.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Work with other departments to monitor expenditures and ensure financial integrity.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Special Projects : Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
