What are the responsibilities and job description for the Church Secretary (part-time) position at Irwin First United Methodist Church?
```Duties```
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all inquiries and requests, both in person and over the phone
- Provide administrative support to the church staff and leadership team
- Manage the church calendar and schedule appointments and meetings
- Maintain accurate records and files, both physical and electronic
- Assist with proofreading and editing documents, including newsletters, bulletins, and correspondence
- Coordinate and distribute communication materials to members and visitors
- Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed
- Assist with event planning and coordination
```Experience```
- Previous experience as a personal assistant or in a similar administrative role is preferred
- Familiarity with dental office procedures is a plus
- Proficient in file management, including organizing, sorting, and maintaining records
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for document creation and collaboration
- Experience working at a front desk or receptionist role is desirable
- Familiarity with phone systems and excellent phone etiquette
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to handle inquiries and requests professionally
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
