Position Summary
The Paralegal is responsible for supporting the corporate legal department in connection with corporate governance requirements, contract management, litigation and handling other legal matters.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Assist in preparing and managing corporate books and documents including formation documents, dissolutions and liquidations, annual general meetings, minutes, consents, resolutions, and other relevant corporate legal documentation and liaise with Company departments, outside counsel, and outside tax advisors
- Maintaining corporate reporting and compliance calendar
- Draft basic letters, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents for legal team
- Maintain legal department calendar and docketing system
- Communicate with and assist company personnel in international markets
- Assist legal team with litigation matters, including preparing litigation hold notices and managing litigation holds, garnishments and responses to subpoenas
- Assist with, obtain, and distribute notarizations, apostilles, legalized documents, certified copies, corporate filings and other corporate documents as needed
- Assistance managing the Company’s corporate and legal database information system together with the related physical files, including the update and maintenance of central electronic and original filing, copying, mailing, and faxing documents as necessary
- Manage and track legal projects from inception to completion
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of experience in corporate law
- Familiarity with corporate documents, such as by-laws, resolutions, articles of incorporation, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to coordinate/manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Possess an expert understanding of associated best practices
- Ability to discreetly handle highly sensitive confidential information
- Ability to work/communicate with all levels of the organization
- High customer focus with the ability to drive for results
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution plus
- 4 years of experience in corporate and international law
- Paralegal Certification
- Network marketing experience
- Experience with legal billing platforms
- Experience with contract management platforms
