Isidore Newman School seeks an experienced educational leader and student advocate to serve as its Assistant Head of Lower School for the 2025-2026 school year.

Purpose and Responsibilities
The Assistant Head of Lower School will work with and support the Head of Lower School in all aspects of divisional leadership and management.
- Establishing strong relationships with all members of the Lower School community.
- Maintaining high expectations for teaching and learning.
- Promoting and modeling the School's Mission statement and core values: honesty, kindness, respect, and responsibility.
- Supporting student discipline and academic performance through monitoring and follow-through.
- Working with the Head of Lower School to advance the School's academic and social-emotional learning program.
- Serving as coordinator for standardized testing and assessments.
- Coaching and providing feedback to teachers on their day-to-day academic work.
- Supporting academic coaches in their work with students and teachers.
- Coordinating support for students through collaboration with the student support team.
- Planning special events in the Lower School.
- Meeting with parents to discuss concerns and address issues in coordination with the Lower School Head.
Qualifications
Candidates must have experience in teaching and leadership, preferably at the lower school level. They should possess the ability to form meaningful relationships with students and teachers while maintaining high expectations for teaching and learning.
Expertise in curriculum development and review is essential. Excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, resourcefulness, and creativity are highly desired qualities for this position.
