HR Generalist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting our organization's HR functions and ensuring a positive workplace environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various HR disciplines, including talent management, employee relations, and benefits administration. • Manage HR functions, including training, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and FMLA administration for about 250 employees across headquarters and school sites.
• Develop programs to train, support, and grow employees.
• Work with department leaders to improve safety and operations.
• Handle disciplinary actions, terminations, and conflict resolution with a proactive approach. Travel to school locations as needed.
• Oversee workers’ compensation claims and ensure compliance.
• Manage benefits enrollment, FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs.
• Ensure payroll accuracy, including salaries, raises, and bonuses.
• Audit employee records and HR systems (ADP) for compliance and accuracy.
• Ensure employees complete required LiveScan, TB tests, and Serve Safe certifications.
• Track and ensure completion of mandatory HR training for employees and management.
• Oversee HRIS systems and continue digitizing onboarding and HR processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, updating policies with legal counsel annually.
• Lead recruitment efforts, including screening, interviewing, and reference checks.
• Visit school sites in Los Angeles to support employees and enforce HR policies.
• Perform other HR duties as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• 5 years of HR experience in a leadership role.
• PHR/SPHR certification preferred
