IT Coordinator

Job Classification: Exempt; Salary

Supervised by: IT Supervisor

Primary Function

The primary function of this position is to provide technological support and training for school students, staff and faculty. The IT Coordinator identifies, acquires and maintains hardware, software and technology tools critical to the schools operations. This position coordinates with other IT staff and other school positions to maintain technology functions of the district and implementation of the school district's technology plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to work as a team to accomplish iSucceed’s mission/goals and carry out Strategic Plan priorities relevant to your role
  • Provide technical support and assistance to students, staff and faculty by serving as the school contact for addressing hardware and software issues
  • Participates in tasks with school administration and service provider to implement hardware, software and technology best practices based on research, pilot programs, and state/national standards
  • Works in collaboration with other IT staff, supervisor, administration and team to carry out internal tech processes
  • Use Tech Ticket tracking system, asset tracking systems and maintain physical inventory for student and staff equipment/licenses reviewed and managed on scheduled time frames according to district practices
  • Uses an established “follow-up” communication system that ensures user issues are addressed and tickets are resolved in a timely manner
  • Anticipate and address user concerns; assist in creating viable solutions to meet business requirements; prepare and direct the training of users on system(s) updates or new features
  • Provide on-board training of system(s) and equipment for students/staff both in person/remote
  • Troubleshoots operation and software problems via multiple methods to determine cause of error or stoppage, provides workarounds in cases where the problem is software related or escalate to system provider technical support if required
  • Answers emails, calls, voicemails and support tickets in a timely manner, emphasizing efficient solutions
  • Assist the team in pursuing equipment collection, tracking, and follow applicable procedures;
  • Maintains hardware and software for all staff following in-house procedures and troubleshooting as determined by the technical issue at hand;
  • Maintains email, applications, and data storage security for school by managing users, roles and access to services
  • Assist with technology plans and accounts both independently and collaboratively with other team members and assists with planning the design of the technology infrastructure so that information resources are continually available to the school community
  • Follow applicable federal, state and district requirements regarding student data and technology
  • Collaborate with school staff and faculty for meetings and trainings, as well as providing specific technical training for all staff when needed
  • Follows a plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally by learning about new technologies and hardware
  • Available for on-call hours if warranted
  • Travel as needed statewide quarterly or as applicable, for school orientation/events to deliver hardware/provide technology support in person
  • Ability to work as a team to accomplish school/district mission/goals
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge or expertise with Chromebooks and web-based platforms
  • Proficient in school, office and productivity applications/software (Microsoft products, MS Intune, Azure AD, Google applications for education, multimedia, cloud-based communications, office equipment)
  • Proficient with video conferencing, school information and learning management systems
  • Knowledge of different computer operating systems, hardware and on-prem servers
  • Comprehensive knowledge regarding system and data security as it related to cloud-based systems and various software
  • Basic knowledge of website maintenance and applicable web applications
  • Ability to maintain professional confidentiality, with knowledge of FERPA guidelines and student data practices
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into simpler terms for training, explanation and planning
  • Ability to keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and records
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English with a positive consideration of additional fluency skills and understanding of a culturally diverse student/parent environment

Education & Experience

  • Google Certifications held or willing to pursue Google Certifications
  • Knowledge of online learning platforms and online learning dynamics helpful
  • High School diploma or equivalent, pursuing Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 1-3 years related experience or training

Working Conditions

The position is located in the Boise, Idaho office. The IT Coordinator will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers in an office environment, which can cause muscle strain. The position handles multiple tasks and is faced with constant interruptions.

The position must be able to lift large boxes or luggage (up to 50 pounds) or heavier with assistance, must also be able to lift and bend repeatedly when stocking laptops and boxes.

  • Travel may be required, must possess valid drivers license and insurance.
