Job Description & Skill Requirement:
This position is for an onsite Designated Quality Representative | Designated Supplier Quality representative (DQR|DSQR) role to join a growing aerospace team with L&T Technology Services (LTTS). As an important part of the Supplier Management Services team here at LTTS, you will actively be providing critical value to our customers by helping to ensure their suppliers deliver aerospace components to meet operational goals.
This role will work with the LTTS team, as well as reporting to the customer's Operations Manager at their plant in Bloomington, MN and is considered a critical member of the customer team.
This is an onsite position at the Bloomington, MN location.
Primary Role:
The designated quality representative (DQR|DSQR) will be a quality assurance professional who works with suppliers to maintain quality standards. They are responsible for inspecting products and ensuring they meet quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Quality assurance: Ensure products meet quality standards
- Supplier performance: Monitor supplier performance and relationships
- Process improvement: Identify and implement process improvements
- Risk management: Identify and manage risks
- Quality control: Conduct inspections and audits
- Communication: Act as a liaison between the company and supplierss
- Conduct thorough inspections of assemblies at various stages of production to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and any corrective actions taken. Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics and issues.
- Defect Identification: Identify and document defects or non-conformities in mold assemblies. Collaborate with the production team to implement corrective measures and prevent recurrence.
- Compliance Checks: Ensure that all mold assembly processes comply with relevant requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production staff, and quality assurance teams to provide feedback on product quality and improvement opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing insights and recommendations based on inspection results and quality trends.
Other Required Knowledge, and Skills & Abilities:
- Organizational Skills, Proficient MS Office suite of software (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point. etc.), Excellent written, verbal & presentation communications skills, Knowledge of Lean Management techniques (C.I., 6S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke), ability to gather and employ data to meet operational goals in metric driven environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor degree in a related fields such as business, with 7 year(s) of relevant experience (Quality | Supplier Quality | Operations | Supply Chain domain).
- Previous experience in quality inspection, particularly in aerospace manufacturing or mold assembly processes, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as Six Sigma or Lean principles.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
- SAP and Excel experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience as an inspector
- AS13001 certification – good for 3 years, offered by SAE
- 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment – preferably Molding, Aerospace
Preferred Qualifications:
- Batchelor degree in a related fields such as business, manufacturing, quality and 7 year(s) of relevant experience (Operations | Quality | Supply Chain domain).
- Knowledge of supply chain management, operations, production supervising, production planning.
- Exposure to project or production management.
- Exposure to engineering and quality processes.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of LEAN.
- An ability to build positive intercompany relationships.
- Outstanding communication and reporting skills.
- An ability to work independently without day-to-say supervision.
