What are the responsibilities and job description for the IYB Summer Camp Nurse position at Ithaca Youth Bureau?
TITLE: Day Camp Nurse
LOCATION: Ithaca Youth Bureau - Cass Park or Stewarts Park
SALARY RANGE: $25 - $30.00 per hour based on certification/license & experience

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Maintains medical records according to Tompkins County Health Department guidelines for both campers and camp staff. Provide first aid as needed and be the point person for the camp emergency action plan and any emergency medical situations. Maintain medical supplies, dispense, and secure camper and camp staff medications. Camp administration functions as the situation calls for.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EMT, LPN, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Physician license.
B. Must have current American Red Cross in CPR for the Professional Rescuer (taken within 1 year of Aug. 15th, 2025) and Responding to Emergencies or higher First Aid or equivalent certifications. (or be willing the get recertified)
C. Prior experience working with children or in recreation programming preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, from the end of June – mid August 2025, 8:45am to 4:30pm with some flexible pre-season hours between May and June to review and organize incoming medical information/documentation and manage DOH & DSS medical requirements.
