We are seeking an experienced IT Manager with experience in a business environment t omanager our 15 locations in the US and 2 in Canada. This position is on-side in Hobart, IN.

Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of network maintenance in a business environment, has experience in managing staff and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge, and is interested in growing an IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems including LANs, WANs, internet, intranet, access control, security cameras, firewalls, and all other technology infrastructure.
  • Design and monitor data security methods including user logins, passwords & directories, data backups, disaster recovery, investigate data breaches and appropriate use policies.
  • Responsible for planning, purchase, installation, and maintenance of physical technology throughout our 17 locations.
  • Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems. Coordinate activities with third-party network providers.
  • Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance. Prepare cost benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best-possible service and value for business needs.
  • Select and purchase new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems so that they operate effectively.
  • Maintain and update firewalls and test the organization’s network and systems.
  • Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Developing project plans, goals, and work within budget; identifying resources needed to complete projects on time.
  • Track and report status (progress, next steps, issues) to appropriate senior management regarding projects.
  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, and development.
  • Continuously improve project management skills through independent study and by identifying and attending formal training sessions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems is required.
  • 8 years of relevant experience required.
  • 3 years of IT management experience required.
  • Strong experience with network technologies such as switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc.
  • Expertise with Microsoft server products: Exchange, Active Directory, SQL, TFS, etc.
  • Expertise with VMware, Citrix and other data center technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10
  • Strong familiarity with both on premise and cloud infrastructure technologies.
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge and practical engineering experience of Cisco switching routing, security, and phone systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Ability to manage and plan projects, maintain control of time management, task planning and prioritization.
