Ivy Tech - Bloomington is looking for an individual to join their team as a Talent Connection Manager and Sponsored Student Support Coordinator to serve as a key liaison between students, employers, and institutional departments. This role supports students in the Achieve Your Degree (AYD) program, sponsored initiatives, and work-learn experiences, focusing on student advising, employer engagement, and program administration. The ideal candidate will enhance career outcomes and build strong employer partnerships, ensuring the success of both students and employers in workforce development initiatives.

Salary: $50,000

Sick Time: 3.7 hours each pay (paid every two weeks).

Vacation Time: 5.34 each pay for first 2 years, then increases to 6.15 after 2 years.

9 Paid holidays: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth National Independence Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day.

Winter recess: The College also observes an official closing of 4 standard work week days between the observed Christmas Day and New Year's Day holidays. This is known as Winter Recess.

Free tuition towards Ivy Tech classes for employee and qualifying dependents.

Overview

The Talent Connection Manager and Sponsored Student Coordinator serves as a vital liaison between students, employers, and various institutional departments. This role ensures effective support for students in the Achieve Your Degree (AYD) program, those in sponsored student initiatives, and others engaged in work and learn experiences. The position balances student advising, employer engagement, and program administration to enhance career outcomes and strengthen employer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate connections between assigned students and relevant work and learn experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Career Link team to organize and execute career fairs and employer engagement events.
  • Establish relationships between students and industry professionals, mentors, and career coaches.
  • Establishes and grows a consistent operational model for campus delivery of work-and-learn opportunities and other skill-based practicum experiences.
  • Develops and coordinates efforts to support campus with career development programs that engage employers directly in recruitment and placement of students. Partners with career coach to engage and encourage student participation in required work-and-learn opportunities and career placement strategies.

Sponsored Student Support

  • Guide Achieve Your Degree (AYD) students through the enrollment process, providing academic advising for approved students (AYDP) and follow-up support for those in progress (AYDU).
  • Conduct midterm and final grade checks for AYD students to monitor academic performance and offer support as needed.
  • Collaborate with AYD employers and HR departments to align employee programs of study with internal work-and-learn opportunities.
  • Partner with Employer Consultants to develop and enhance AYD resources and outreach strategies for existing employer partners.
  • Maintain AYD enrollment reports, manage the AYD Portal, and provide billing support in coordination with the Business Office.
  • Provide guidance and tracking for employer-sponsored students participating in non-AYD agreements and Next Level Jobs programs.
  • Oversee the management of the Next Level Jobs (Non-Credit) budget, usage projections, and Department of Defense LOGM Program and apprenticeship initiatives.
  • Support the successful implementation and management of employer-sponsored initiatives while offering additional assistance to students as needed.
  • Collaborate with Employer Consultants to transition new AYD partnerships after a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is signed. Note: Responsibility for cultivating new AYD partnerships lies with the Employer Consultant team until an MOU is signed.

Key Relationships

  • Collaborates closely with Student Services, Employer Consultants, Academic Affairs, and the Business Office to ensure seamless program operation.
  • Engages directly with students, industry representatives, and career mentors to promote success in work and learn opportunities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience in career development and/or along with relationship management experience is required. Relationship management ensures strategy in regard to partnership, loyalty, and retention on the stakeholder's behalf.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities to manage numerous tasks concurrently, some with conflicting priorities required.
  • Commitment to student learning outcomes, staff development, and diversity required.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to and from campuses and participate in professional development activities.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend hours to meet student and employer needs.
