What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transition Support Specialis position at J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center?
As a Transition Support Specialist, you will be responsible for: Implementation of behavior analytic educational and treatment programs of transition age youth (age 14-22) in the classroom and the community, under the direction of the Director of Special Education, Clinical Director, Supervising Behavior Analyst, Lead Behavior Analyst, Transition Coordinator, Behavior Analyst, Behavior Specialist, Supervisory Educator and/or Lead Behavior TechnicianCollecting data with individual student measurement systems and participate in data managementImplementing treatment plans with fidelity and manage crisis situations using the designated crisis management system to ensure safety of the students and staff membersProviding hands on training and support to students at a variety of work locationsMonitoring and evaluating student progress and performance at job sites as well as participate in ongoing communication with the Transition Coordinator, employers, parents, and IEP team personnel to facilitate long-term employment for studentsProviding on-the-job customized and integrated supports to enable students to acquire the skills necessary for competitive employmentRecognizing the need for accommodations and using the tools and information to provide the accommodations needed to be successful in a vocational/integrated work settingParticipating as a member of student IEP teams and in daily clinics, attending trainings, and assisting in creating and organizing lesson materialsPerforming all other duties and job assignments as required by Supervisors
