Duties
- Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialization.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques.
- Provide basic training commands during walks to reinforce good behavior.
- Monitor the health and behavior of each dog, reporting any concerns to the owner.
- Ensure that all dogs are safely leashed and equipped with appropriate gear before walks.
- Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain a clean environment.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and needs.
- Assist with additional pet care tasks as needed, including feeding or administering medications.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet sitting, dog training, or working as a veterinary technician is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs).
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices is a plus.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Must be physically fit and able to walk long distances in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends.
