Assistant Project Manager – Civil Construction

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our project teams and contribute to the success of our projects.
Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will work closely with the Project Manager and field teams to ensure smooth project execution. The APM will assist in managing project schedules, budgets, contracts, and communication between stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within the civil construction industry and develop leadership skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Support
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and executing civil construction projects.
- Track project progress and report updates to management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Assist in reviewing project drawings, specifications, and contracts for compliance.
Budget & Cost Management
- Help track project costs and budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Assist in preparing and processing change orders, submittals, and purchase orders.
- Support invoice approvals and cost-tracking processes.
Communication & Documentation
- Serve as a liaison between the office and field teams, ensuring clear communication.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, daily reports, and meeting minutes.
- Assist in preparing project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed on-site.
- Assist with project quality control and compliance with industry regulations.
- Support project closeout, punch lists, and final inspections.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in civil construction, site development, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and contracts.
- Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control procedures.
