Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all phases of civil litigation, from case assessment to trial and resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and court filings with precision and efficiency.
- Manage the discovery process, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
- Provide strategic legal counsel to clients regarding case strengths, risks, and potential outcomes.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation or arbitration as needed.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Attend court hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trials as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in New York State.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in civil litigation (defense experience preferred).
- Skills: Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities. Proven case management skills in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Experience:
- Personal Injury Defense or Civil Defense.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal court rules and procedures.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- Experience representing municipal entities, public authorities, or large-scale organizations in civil litigation.
