Litigation Paralegal – Defense | Mineola, NY (Onsite)

Our client, a respected litigation defense firm, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Mineola, NY. This is a full-time, onsite position offering the opportunity to work on meaningful civil litigation matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

In this role, you’ll support attorneys in defending individuals, businesses, and organizations in personal injury and negligence cases. If you're highly organized, proactive, and have strong litigation experience, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in all stages of litigation, from case inception through trial.
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence.
• Organize and manage discovery materials, including document review and production.
• Coordinate and prepare materials for depositions, court appearances, and trial.
• File documents with state, federal, and appellate courts; ensure compliance with deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather case information.
• Prepare chronologies, case summaries, and trial binders.
• Assist in settlement preparation, mediation materials, and legal research.
• Review and analyze medical, employment, and other factual records.

Qualifications

• College degree or Paralegal Certificate (ABA-approved program) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of litigation experience, ideally in personal injury or civil litigation defense.
• Solid understanding of litigation processes, including discovery and trial preparation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., case management systems).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with insurance defense or corporate claims.
• Familiarity with medical record review and summarization.
• Knowledge of e-discovery platforms and technology.
