We are seeking Respiratory Therapy Clinical adjunct instructors to teach face-to-face courses to guide and mentor students in clinical settings. The instructor will play a crucial role in ensuring students gain hands-on experience, develop critical thinking skills, and apply theoretical knowledge in real-world healthcare environments. This position involves supervising students during clinical rotations, evaluating their performance, and collaborating with faculty to ensure a high standard of respiratory therapy education.
- Supervise and instruct respiratory therapy students in clinical settings, ensuring competency in patient care techniques.
- Demonstrate and reinforce proper procedures for respiratory therapy interventions, including mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, airway management, and pulmonary function testing.
- Assess student performance through observation, evaluations, and feedback to facilitate skill development.
- Maintain open communication with students, faculty, and clinical site staff to ensure a collaborative learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with program curriculum, accreditation standards, and clinical site policies.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for students, fostering professionalism and ethical patient care practices.
- Document student progress, attendance, and competency assessments per program and institutional guidelines.
- Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and advancements in respiratory therapy.
- Assist in curriculum development, faculty meetings, and student advising as needed.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Licensure/Certification: Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with current Virginia licensure.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
- Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively instruct and evaluate students.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
