What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Personnel & Development Associate Director – Big Law experienced- 7 years position at J.Sheppard Associates?
The Associate Director of Legal Personnel will work closely with the firm’s Corporate M&A group leaders to execute strategies and implement programs in 4 silos, namely attorney career progression, performance management, deal / client staffing optimization and policy implementation management. A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a professional services firm or peer law firm in legal personnel, professional development, or talent management with at least three (3) of those years in a big law firm is required.
A highly motivated individual in this role with have “key to team success” responsibilities include leveraging data driven insights and proactively engaging practice group leaders to identify challenges, develop innovative strategies, and implementing solutions to drive organizational success. Another key aspect will be guiding partners and group heads on work allocation, career progression and professional challenges to position the firm as an employer of choice.
The ideal candidate will foster partnerships across professional development, training, recruiting and talent management to meet the end goals of the corporate practice group. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required. JD required. Compensation includes salary ($210K – $235K ), incredible benefits, and potential year-end bonus.
