Our sophisticated Real Estate Finance client firm represents banks and other major financial institutions throughout the United States. They are seeking a Counsel, or Senior Associate, with a minimum of 10 years of syndicated loan experience, representing financial institutions making complex syndicated and bilateral construction and term loans for a variety of commercial real estate projects. The ideal candidate will have an outsized role in maintaining, developing, and expanding on a significant book of business being vacated by a retiring partner.
The Counsel must have a strong understanding of the documentation and regulatory issues involved in representing lead banks in complex loan transactions. Knowledge of affordable housing transaction experience is a plus. (i.e., transactions involving deals financed with HDC and HFA bonds and IRC Section 42 tax credit equity). Client-facing engagement skills, representing financial institutions making complex commercial loans including construction loans and term debt, which are secured by a range of commercial real property types, required.
This Counsel will also be an integral part of the group’s workflow, with leadership skills to work well with a small group of attorneys and paralegals. The Counsel must be well organized, able to prioritize and work well in a professional manner, while meeting client deadlines easily, delivering white glove service. In addition, excellent judgement, and superior written and verbal communication skills are all required. JD required. NY Bar Admission required. Compensation includes salary ($275K-$400K), bonus and robust benefits package. Individuals with substantial growth potential should have a strong academic background and a minimum of ten years of real estate lending experience.
