Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Scheduler to support our Transmission Project Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Critical Path Method (CPM) and a deep comprehension of how scheduling software (Primavera P6) calculates project timelines. While direct experience with Primavera P6 is beneficial, a solid knowledge of scheduling principles is the priority.
This role involves analyzing project schedules, identifying impacts, assessing logic, and making recommendations to project teams to ensure the successful execution of projects. The position is open to entry-level or mid-level candidates with strong scheduling knowledge. PMI-Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are preferred but not required, with PMI-SP being the preferred certification due to cost considerations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules to support large capital projects and medium-complexity portfolios.
- Utilize Primavera P6 to perform schedule baselining, planning, tracking, monitoring, and reporting.
- Assess and analyze critical paths to identify schedule risks and provide solutions to keep projects on track.
- Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure schedules are accurate, up to date, and aligned with project goals.
- Provide schedule impact analysis and make data-driven recommendations to optimize project timelines.
- Assist in conducting project scheduling meetings and communicating status updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain project baseline schedules and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Support leadership with special reports, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Perform document management activities related to project schedules and baselines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of scheduling experience.
- Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and how schedules are calculated.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Solid knowledge of project planning, estimating, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project scheduling, project controls, or related fields (engineering, construction, or utilities).
- Familiarity with engineering and construction project controls.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 for scheduling and project planning.
- PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI-Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) (PMI-SP preferred).
