What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Assistant position at Jacaranda Consulting?
Responsibilities:
- Answer phones and communicate with clients, court personnel and vendors daily.
- Assist with scheduling, including calendar maintenance, depositions and client/expert meetings.
- Federal and state court e-filings.
- File maintenance (paper and electronic).
- Prepare and revise correspondence, pleadings and documents.
- Provide support for assigned attorneys (as well as backup support) as needed.
- Perform other administrative duties, as assigned.
The successful candidate is well-organized, detail-oriented, and a team player, possessing at least 3 years of recent experience working as a Legal Assistant, possessing a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Three years or more of recent litigation secretarial and/or paralegal experience in a law firm.
- Associate’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred (bachelor’s degree a plus).
- Highly organized and efficient with a proven ability to multi-task and take direction, and independently track and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of document management, electronic calendaring and .PDF software.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, together with excellent proof-reading skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in an office environment and communicate effectively with attorneys and support staff.
- Prior experience filing documents in federal and state courts, including e-filing.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
