Responsibilities :
We are seeking a Litigation Assistant to support multiple attorneys in its busy Hartford, Connecticut office.
Answer phones and communicate with clients, court personnel and vendors daily.
Assist with scheduling, including calendar maintenance, depositions and client / expert meetings.
Federal and state court e-filings.
File maintenance (paper and electronic).
Prepare and revise correspondence, pleadings and documents.
Provide support for assigned attorneys (as well as backup support) as needed.
Perform other administrative duties, as assigned.
Qualifications :
Three years or more of recent litigation secretarial and / or paralegal experience in a law firm.
Associate's degree and / or paralegal certification preferred (bachelor's degree a plus).
Highly organized and efficient with a proven ability to multi-task and take direction, and independently track and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of document management, electronic calendaring and .PDF software.
Solid verbal and written communication skills, together with excellent proof-reading skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in an office environment and communicate effectively with attorneys and support staff.
Prior experience filing documents in federal and state courts, including e-filing.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and a team player
Possessing at least 3 years of recent experience working as a Legal Assistant, possessing a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
