Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently by preparing high quality ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting kitchen staff across various stations.
- Efficiently prepare and portion ingredients for use in various dishes following standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate all kitchen stations and assist as needed.
- Maintain the flexibility to work any station and shift as required.
- Support team efforts to meet kitchen demands during peak service times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all food storage, preparation and cooking areas.
- Assist in ensuring the kitchen complies with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Label and date all food storage containers, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Perform routine cleaning of kitchen equipment and tools.
- Communicate effectively with all kitchen staff and Chefs to ensure smooth operations.
- Comply with all company and department policies, procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a line cook or prep cook preferred but not required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
- Proficiency in basic culinary techniques, knife skills and food preparation.
- Familiarity with cooking methods, including frying, sautéing, broiling, baking and roasting.
- Knowledge of proper food handling, storage and sanitization techniques.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work any station and shift as required.
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced kitchen environment.
