Summary
The Operational Data Base Coordinator is responsible for data collection, submission and report utilization of the Operational Data Base tool. Ensures data implementation deadlines are met and that all reporting is accurate and compliant with ODB guidelines. The role supports department managers with onboarding and training and manages cost center information. Coordinates benchmarking liaises with Vizient and stays updated on program changes.
Responsibilities
- Works with the Operational Data Base team to ensure all implementation deadlines are met.
- Works with the ODB Product Advisor after implementation is complete.
- Reports accurate and comprehensive data.
- Maps the hospital cost centers to the ODB tool that are available reporting departments.
- Maps the General Ledger expense sub-accounts & payroll job codes to the appropriate data elements.
- Collects, or manages the collection of, all facility cost center level information.
- Ensures data elements are reported according to ODB guidelines.
- Completes the data submission by the quarterly submission deadline.
- Serve as the facility's direct contact for all department manager needs including onboarding new managers with respect to their roles/responsibilities/expectations related to the ODB.
- Creates and maintains compare groups for relevant benchmarking.
- Disseminates reports and coordinate / conduct department manager report training.
- Helps executives and managers interpret reports.
- Creates employee awareness of the benchmarking process.
- Function as liaison to Vizient ODB program and for networking with peer hospitals.
- Sets up and maintains user access to the ODB tool.
- Reviews the PC Communiqué, Program Release Notes, ODB Program Call Information, and other communications to stay current in program updates and best practices for data submission and reporting utilization.
- Participates in Vizient led discussions, projects, and learning opportunities.
- Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
Credentials
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
