Jamestown Excavating is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to record financial transactions and generate reports for multiple business enterprises and entities. This full-time position is essential in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and providing timely information to management.
Responsibilities:
- Record and manage day-to-day financial transactions, including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer invoicing, and vendor invoicing.
- Generate and send invoices to customers, meticulously maintaining records for billing and collections.
- Proactively ensure the prompt collection and accurate recording of receivables.
- Prepare and enter employee hours into the payroll system for timely processing.
- File and report Certified Payroll as required.
- Efficiently match supplier invoices and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Accurately enter equipment allocation data.
- Set up new vendor, credit, and charge accounts.
- Assist with equipment asset payment processing and allocation.
- Process and manage employee expense reports.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and Office Manager to ensure timely and effective communication of financial information.
- Prepare insightful financial reports for the CEO and Project Estimator.
- Record cash receipts and ensure timely bank deposits.
- Conduct thorough monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts to maintain accuracy.
- Provide organized and accurate information to the Finance Director to facilitate the creation of financial statements.
- Assemble necessary documentation and information for external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Maintain a well-organized and efficient accounting filing system.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit tax filings, including sales tax, FUTA, FICA, state taxes, Business & Occupation (B&O) tax, and federal reporting and filings.
- Interface directly and professionally with the Tribal CFO and other members of the Tribal Accounting Department.
- Provide valuable clerical and administrative support to management as needed.
- Prepare professional correspondence as required.
- Conduct research, plan, and organize pertinent information for tasks or projects assigned by the CEO.
- Travel occasionally to attend workshops, meetings, and conventions.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall financial operations of the company.
- Adhere to all JKT Development policies and procedures, including strict standards for safety and work practices as outlined in the Occupational Exposure Control Plan, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is required; however, three (3) years of professional work experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of an associate’s degree.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Suites is essential.
- Basic working knowledge of Sage 100 Contractor is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including highly effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

Pay: $24.24 - $33.94 per hour
