Job Summary

Janzen's Greenhouse is looking for people who would love a short-duration role as a member of our team during the busiest (and most fun) part of the season (1-2 months). As a Superseasonal Greenhouse team member, you will play an essential role in providing exceptional customer service and supporting the overall operations of our greenhouse. Your main responsibility will be to assist customers in finding the perfect plants, flowers, and gardening supplies for their needs. Additionally, you will help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the center, as well as contribute to inventory management. This is a seasonal position with a flexible schedule. Our greenhouse is busiest during the spring and summer months, and we offer extended hours to accommodate our customers' needs. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in the horticulture industry or simply share their love of gardening with others.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting plants, flowers, and gardening supplies based on their specific needs and preferences
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the garden center, including watering plants, sweeping floors, and organizing shelves
- Assist with restocking merchandise and inventory management
- Operate cash registers and process customer transactions accurately
- Answer customer inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment, including lifting and carrying heavy objects
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred
