Job Description
- A bachelor’s degree required
- Strong computer skills including MS Office applications and Internet searching
- Ability to work with people of a variety of backgrounds and cultures
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Be physically able to perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the job
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public
- Strong organizational, management, and team-building skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet as well as exceed job expectations with limited supervision
- Perform original or advanced cataloging.
- Provides reference assistance.
- Check library materials in and out.
- Empty book drop
- Register new library patrons.
- Collect and record fines.
- Answer telephone calls.
- Receives monies for fines and Xerox copies.
- Repair library materials.
- Order ILL requests.
- Put reserves on books that have been requested.
- Assist in processing new books.
- Open and close the library as needed.
- Promote library activities
- Process paperback and donated materials including stamping, labeling, and entering material into a computer system.
- Maintain customer service-oriented behavior.
- Supervise student workers as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
