The Cook will prepare meals, assist in kitchen operations, and ensure a welcoming dining experience for all guests. Successful candidates for this position must be able to prepare food for clients while maintaining a clean and safe environment under the supervision of a Food Service Manager. Individuals must work cooperatively with team members and in accordance with the established guidelines and procedures of Everett Gospel Mission and functions according to the standards of the profession.

The schedule is day shift, Monday Friday will require working some holidays and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide operational and administrative support to the Director as needed.
• Meal preparation, food safety and hygiene, and kitchen maintenance while adhering to all safe food handling principles :
• Responsible for cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Responsible for delivering high-quality and appealing presentation of meals served to guests.
• Responsible for setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies for shifts.
• Responsible for preparing food for service adhering to safety policies (e.g. chopping, vegetables, thawing meat, or preparing sauces).
• Responsible for cleaning up workstation and equipment after meals and taking care of leftover food by storing it properly.
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining work areas, freezers, coolers, and other food storage areas.
• Inventory management :
• Assists as needed with product inventory and deliveries to pantry.
• Monitors waste and other food cost controls.
• Engage with people :
• Support a supportive and cooperative kitchen culture by working with the team to cook the menu items in a professional manner.
• Collaboration, Guest interaction. Addresses complaints and concerns promptly in a courteous manner and notifies the Supervisor of any issues.
• Attend and participate in all meetings and training courses as assigned.
• Submit accurate timesheets in a timely and accurate manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
