We are seeking an Office Engineer to join our team for a major infrastructure rehabilitation project in New York City.
Job Responsibilities:*
- Assist the Resident Engineer with reviewing and preparing Pedestrian Ramp reports and submissions to NYC.
- Monitor and review contractor’s submittals, payroll, and insurance documentation.
- Familiar with NYC specifications and standard drawings for Pedestrian Ramp Construction.
- Receive, examine, track, post, and distribute RFIs, submittals, and change orders, while monitoring their status.
- Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project records, and logs both electronically and/or with physical copies in accordance with NYC record-keeping standards.
- Support the Resident Engineer in reviewing payment requisitions, tracking and processing all contract payments, and preparing and reconciling documentation.
- Oversee and review daily reports from field inspectors.
- Enter data into NYC DOT’s PRISM on a regular basis.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Teams, and familiar with NYC’s PDMS.
- Compile and prepare monthly project progress reports.
- Attend project meetings and accurately record meeting minutes.
- Prepare final documents to ensure project documentation is processed promptly, and assist in project close-out activities, including resolving potential claims.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 5 years of relevant Office Engineer experience.
- ASCE III or NICET IV Certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NYC construction details and specifications, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessibility Guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to manage and edit data and create reports.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong expertise in client relationship management.
- Knowledge and experience in the construction of ADA-compatible Pedestrian Ramps in NYC.
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related fields with an FE is preferred.
