PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY Responsible for providing monitoring of students identified through the threat assessment process, law enforcement, or court involvement. To include Safety/Supervision Planning assistance to schools and families for any students identified through one of the above processes, expulsion, and school transitions where safety is a concern.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate District Level Behavioral Threat Assessment (DLBTA) meetings concerning students identified as at-risk of targeted violence towards others and/or themselves.
Collaborate with school and district administrators and community partners utilizing a balanced approach of assessment and intervention to mitigate and prevent possible offending behaviors.
Formulate Safety Plans for students with the goal of establishing school safety, academic success, and pro-social behavior.
Work with Principals and school administrators regarding students monitored through the Judicial Services team.
Work with school administrators and facilitate Safety Plan meetings with students being monitored through judicial involvement or the threat management process.
Bring current research, approaches, and material to the attention of the Judicial Services team.
As appropriate, partner with agencies such as law enforcement, district attorneys, social services, and mental health organizations to gather and analyze comprehensive data, helping create a full assessment of student strengths, background, and needs.
Refer students and families to community partner agencies (Juvenile Assessment Center, Jefferson Center, etc.) for services. Provide resources and interventions to families of monitored students.
Meet with students and families, at school, other government, or service provider facilities as well as in the community.
Represent the school district at court proceedings for students involved with the Judicial Services team or those who have been detained at Rocky Mountain Youth Service Center.
Actively participate as a member of the DSS Reunification Team, coordinating reunification efforts in emergency situations.
Maintain good working relationships with other agencies.
Report to and update supervisor on activity, workload, and procedural issues, seeking guidance on complex cases and district-level threat assessments as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the safety and well-being of the district's students and staff.
EXPERIENCE 3 years' of experience working with at-risk juveniles and related agencies, including one year of experience coordinating services for at-risk juveniles. Juvenile Justice/Court experience preferred.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field. Additional equivalent and directly related work experience may substitute for degree.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Colorado Driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to understand policies and practices of Jefferson County Agencies involved with at-risk students. Must be able to learn and operate software programs specific to the District, and the Juvenile Justice System. Ability to mediate conflict. Must have extensive knowledge of the School Board policies; Code of Conduct; and State and local judicial policies. Must understand the applicable policies, criminal, and education statues related to school age youths. Must have the ability to prioritize situations according to importance, specifically regarding safety of students and staff. Must be able to work efficiently in a team environment and independently as needed. Proficient at public speaking and large group trainings. Ability to travel frequently among district facilities. SPAN OF CONTROL This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position serves as a resource to district personnel regarding threat assessment case management. Serve as resource assisting as a conduit for information sharing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a semi-secured office building with a typical office environment and risk factors. Frequent travel to court houses, agency offices, and school sites.
