Description
Forensic Program Coordinator
Normal Work Hours/Days: Monday- Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm; on call as needed to support the needs of the recipients
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as liaison with Courts, ADMH facilities and legal staff, ADMH administration, JBS programs, and other social service agencies relative to the NGRI population.
- Attend scheduled court hearings and offer required testimony of the progress, or lack thereof, of the Forensic recipients to the appropriate courts.
- Provide therapeutic services (i.e. individual therapy; group therapy, crisis management, family therapy, etc.) to the assigned Forensic recipients.
- Provide pre-discharge and pre-placement interviews to recipients at state hospitals who have an NGRI status. Work with placement team on NGRI admissions into the residential program.
- Manage NGRI recipients to ensure they are in the best possible Court approved living arrangement and report to the appropriate Court when behaviors/actions make it necessary.
- Maintain tracking system for recipients in residential programming and the community who have an NGRI status. Provide regular updates of NGRI reports to supervisor, Associate Director, and Executive Director.
- Oversee the assignment of all circuit court hearings for JBS recipients with NGRI status. Notify staff and the recipient of said hearings in a timely manner.
- Supervise forensic case managers
- Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports on assigned NGRI recipients to the appropriate judge in an accurate and timely manner.
- Demonstrates efficiency and competency in use of EHR.
- Performs special projects, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in a human service-related field such as counseling or social work. License or license eligible individuals preferred.
- Ability to self- motivate, self- monitor, and self- initiate to complete required tasks.
- Some knowledge of terminology consistent with legal, judicial, criminal, and court actions and proceedings.
- Previous experience working with a forensic population or in a forensic setting preferred.
