JOB SUMMARY
The National Roofing Division Director is responsible for the day-to-day sales, management, and production of all commercial roofing projects, including but not limited, to subcontractor performance, schedule management, budgeting management, safety, and quality control to ensure all aspects of projects are completed per manufactures specifications and per OSHA requirements. The Director is also responsible for working closely with Operations Team to ensure each project is properly contracted, staffed, and performed safely and per the specifications designed. The Director will be in direct contact with every branch to assist with potential customers, projects, and the development of the staff to ensure each branch is capable of performing in the residential and commercial roofing market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for the National Roofing Division Director :
Operational Management
- Training and development of each branch's team to assist in the NRD growth in their markets
- Develops the overall roofing program to include the policy and procedures to ensure each project is successful
- Designs, estimates, and oversees each new project for accuracy and compliance with local codes
- Works with each manufacture to ensure each project is warranty certified
- Review scopes and budgets for accuracy, to include material orders
- Reviews all contracted / subcontracted documentation to ensure the scopes are covered and contracted correctly
- Reviews building permits as required and ensures all government guidelines for each permit and project are in line
- Ensures all OSHA and Environment regulations are followed on each project and a site-specific plan is in place
- Ensures all subcontractors are given initial Job Hazard Analysis and safety briefing prior to starting any commercial roofing project
- Manages subcontractors to verify that they are providing adequate resources and standards to meet contract requirements as well as adhere to top quality standards
- Ensures all projects meet the highest standards of workmanship based on manufactures guidelines
- Attends pre-construction meetings as often as possible (required on specific jobs due to complexity)
Administration Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :
The National Roofing Division Director must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrates the ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and the ability to speak effectively to customers and / or employees of organization in the English language.
TECHNICAL SKILLS :
To perform this job successfully, the National Roofing Division Director should have knowledge of industry related software be able to touch type and be familiar with software like Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); able to communicate via cell phone and appropriate apps.
REASONING ABILITY :
The National Roofing Division Director should possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in the English language.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
While performing the duties of this job, the National Roofing Division Director is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
The National Roofing Division Director is also regularly required to visit project sites that have incurred catastrophic events from water and storm damage. The employee must be able to carry a minimum of 50 pounds in weight for the purpose of getting material to a specific place on the project site. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is also frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.
The National Roofing Division Director is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Appropriate safety equipment is furnished.
