Here is what we are looking for:
*Review, analyze, and underwrite non-QM loan applications to assess creditworthiness, income, assets, and overall risk.
•Evaluate alternative income documentation, including bank statements, 1099s, and other non-traditional sources.
•Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and company policies.
•Communicate underwriting decisions effectively to internal teams and external partners.
•Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to gather necessary documentation and resolve issues.
•Maintain detailed and accurate records of underwriting decisions.
•Stay updated on industry trends, guidelines, and regulatory changes related to non-QM lending.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, with at least 2 years specializing in non-QM loans.
- Thorough knowledge of non-QM loan products, guidelines, and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial scenarios.
- Proficiency in mortgage software systems and tools (e.g., Encompass, Calyx, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- [Optional: Relevant certifications such as DE (Direct Endorsement) or LAPP/SAR preferred but not required.]
