This individual will play a pivotal role in generating new business and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure a seamless, memorable event experience.
Position Summary:
The Special Events Consultant / Catering Sales Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the sales and event planning process, from prospecting and lead generation to finalizing contracts and overseeing event execution. This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong sales acumen, exceptional customer service skills, and a passion for creating memorable events. The ideal candidate will have experience in the catering and hospitality industry, a deep understanding of event logistics, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development:
- Proactively generate new leads and build a strong sales pipeline through networking, cold calling, referrals, and industry events.
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets for catering events, corporate functions, weddings, and private parties.
- Cultivate relationships with key clients, venues, event planners, and other industry professionals to generate repeat business and referrals.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients, showcasing Jewell Events Catering’s services, menu options, and unique offerings.
- Event Consultation & Planning:
- Work closely with clients to understand their event needs, vision, and budget, providing expert advice and guidance throughout the planning process.
- Develop customized proposals, menu plans, and event concepts that align with clients’ preferences and expectations.
- Assist clients in selecting appropriate venues, catering options, décor, and other event services.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of events, from initial planning to event day logistics.
- Contract Negotiation & Closing:
- Draft and negotiate contracts for catering services and event packages, ensuring all details are captured accurately.
- Oversee the booking process from initial consultation to final contract signing.
- Collaborate with clients to finalize event timelines, service requirements, and budgets.
- Ensure all contracts and financials are handled efficiently, with accurate invoicing and payment tracking.
- Customer Service & Relationship Management:
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the event planning process, maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients.
- Address any client concerns or changes promptly, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and event success.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring they return for future events and refer Jewell Events Catering to others.
- Collaboration & Team Support:
- Work closely with the culinary and operations teams to ensure all client requirements are met, and events run smoothly.
- Attend internal meetings to review upcoming events, timelines, and client needs.
- Assist with event setups and activations when needed, contributing to team efforts on event day.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, event planning, or catering sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Experience in the catering or hospitality industry is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with event planning software, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, EventPro), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
