PURPOSE/SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Thrive Counseling is expanding youth services, notably to youth who have experienced trauma. We are looking for a professional to provide clinical assessment and psychotherapy to a diverse set of youth clients. The therapist will establish treatment goals with clients, a service plan, and document the counseling activities in our electronic health record.
Thrive therapists use a variety of evidence-based modalities and approaches. Thrive Counseling at JFS offers a rich learning environment for therapists and this position is a great opportunity for limited license MSW (LLMSW) applicants working toward licensure and for more experienced LMSW or LPC applicants. Weekly clinical supervision will be provided as well as Clinical Peer Supervision and other relevant trainings. In this full-time salaried position, a therapist will conduct initial assessments as well as provide ongoing psychotherapy. Counseling is offered via Telehealth and in office appointments.
This role will include outreach to local schools, facilitation of groups and workshops, and provision of psychoeducation.
This position is full-time. Part-time and contractual positions may be considered.
Qualifications
1. Must have a master's degree in social work and an active licensed in the state of Michigan. LLMSW, LMSW, or LPC may apply. No other applicants will be considered at this time.
2. Experience working with youth and families, who have experienced trauma.
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
4. Extensive computer experience.
REQUIRED LANGUAGE SKILLS
1. Ability to express oneself articulately and effectively both verbally and in written communication.
2. Comfort communicating with individuals for whom English is their second language.

1. Ability to deal with abstract as well as concrete problematic people and situations.
2. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
