Principal Responsibilities:
The JCC Program Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for creating and actively promoting a comfortable and welcoming environment where every member is treated with dignity and respect, in a friendly, personalized manner.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing the needs and desires of our community members and identify long-term and short-term programs and goals.
- Developing, planning, coordinating and supervising all operational aspects of JCC programming.
- This position has a significant hands-on role in the planning and day-to-day operations of our JCC Camp Programming.
- Assisting in JCC fundraising endeavors.
- Developing and strengthening partnerships with new and existing organizations.
- Ensuring compliance of all programs with governmental standards.
The incumbent in this role will also be an instrumental leader as we plan to move to a new nearby campus in 2022.This is an exciting time to join our team! The scope of this role may evolve and grow once we have transitioned to our new campus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The following positions and programs report directly to the JCC Program Director: Early Learning Center Director, Children & Youth Department, Day Camp, Sports, Fitness and Recreation Director, Green Hills, Senior Adult Programming Director, Membership/Community Engagement Director, PJ Library and other staff and volunteers as assigned.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
Position responsibilities may be adjusted based on the previous experience and qualifications of the candidate through discussions with the President & CEO. Annual salary range will be based on experience and final job description: $65,000-$80,000.

Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. plus 5-10 years' experience in program development, including expertise in some or all of the following areas: day camp, youth, teens and seniors; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Early Childhood Education certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in management/supervisory roles, including volunteer management
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and leadership skills.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills, with a proven ability to effectively solve problems.
- Competence with modern office equipment including personal computers, Microsoft Office Software and Google Applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- An ability and willingness to occasionally work evenings and Sundays.
- Must be able to do a considerable amount of walking, standing, bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Must satisfactorily complete all pre-employment backgrounds checks required by The Child Protective Services Law (CPSL).
- Must pass a health assessment within 30 days of date of hire, conducted by a physician, physician's assistant or CRNP. This includes, but is not limited to, Tuberculosis screening.
Salary:
65,000 - 75,000
