Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an office or administrative support position.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, telephone systems and ability to learn electronic health records.
Provide administrative support to program coordinator and case manager.
- Screen incoming calls for aging services and appropriateness.
- Advocates on behalf of clients for services, basic needs, and other related issues.
- Complete and manage purchase orders and track progress to ensure delivery of services and products.
- Assist with completion of monthly and quarterly reports.
- Coordinate community outreach visits and events as requested.
- Stays abreast of community resources and agency programs.
- Monitor and return agency emails.
- Returns phone calls within a timely manner, usually 24 hours.
- Assist with set up of groups and activities
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- At least 2 years' experience in office and administrative support
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with aging population and diverse populations and backgrounds
- Well organized with excellent time management skills
- Understand and support cultural diversity
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Ability to engage and work with the aging population
- Ability to work independently
- Capacity to understand the obligations, functions, programs and services of the agency and refer clients to other interagency programs and services within the community as appropriate.
- Ongoing interest in obtaining training to update skills and treatment interventions especially in the high-risk area of seniors and vulnerable adults.
- Strong ability to relate to other professionals and lay people in the community regarding JFCS, its mission, vision and programs.
- Annual HIPAA training
- Annual Deaf & Hard of Hearing Training
- All other annual required agency wide and counseling specific trainings
