What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Jiffy Mix?
The Production Planner establishes long-range, weekly, and daily production schedules consistent with sales forecasts, customer orders and plant capacity. The Chelsea Milling Company, producer of the iconic “Jiffy” brand, is looking for a Production Planner that will help take our Food Service business to the next level. We have plans to more than double our production capability to match rapidly growing demand and are looking for an experienced Production Planner who will be critical in enabling this growth. What will you do?
- Partner with Food Service team to develop production schedules for manufacturing that meet customer order demands and maintain target inventory levels
- Work with Production to resolve any discrepancies related to production schedules
- Track production and ensure on time manufacturing of products
- Work with Purchasing to ensure material availability for scheduled production
- Use and maintain ERP systems to manage production planning function
- Revise production schedule based on any changes to demand or production personnel availability
- Analyze trends in customer demand and future forecasts
- Proactively communicate and resolve issues that might prevent schedules from being completed to plan.
- Coordinate and reconcile finished goods inventory each period

The minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
- 5 years of experience as a planner/scheduler in a multi-stage manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience scheduling utilizing ERP software or related integrated manufacturing software.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package, particularly Excel.

- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure clear communication will all levels of staff
- Analytical and logical thought process
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS Certification
- Scheduling experience in food manufacturing environment
- Specific knowledge of ERPLx or equivalent ERP platform
- Scheduling software implementation experience
- Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
- High standards of excellence and quality-oriented mindset
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
