Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager

Company: Jim Morris Environmental & Wildlife T-shirt Co.

Location: Boulder, CO (hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 days remote per week)

Pay: $50,000/year 2% of net retail sales (mostly driven by social media) ; estimatedrange of avg. 70k-150k/year pay total with base high sales

35-40 hours/week (3 days in person, 2 days remote) (the first month or so will be 4-5 in-shop days as you learn the lay of the land!)

Position Overview: We’re seeking a talented, enthusiastic Social Media Manager to oversee and execute the brand’s social media presence across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for storytelling, creating compelling content, and building community engagement. The ideal candidate will take charge of our social media strategy, create and edit videos, respond to inquiries, and collaborate with partners. The social media presence you manage will be a key driver of our retail sales and brand growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a creative social media strategy aligned with Jim Morris Environmental & Wildlife T-shirt Co.'s mission and branding.
  • Create and edit engaging videos, photos, graphics, and written content for Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Brainstorm new and innovative content ideas, including highlighting new products, Jim's personality, behind-the-scenes looks, and wildlife-related themes.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices to keep our content fresh and engaging.
  • Create wholesome content that educates followers about nature and wildlife, tastefully balancing this with item promotion.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Monitor and respond to direct messages, comments, and inquiries in the company’s voice.
  • Engage with followers and customers by creating interactive and engaging content (polls, contests, questions).
  • Foster a positive and active online community through consistent interaction and genuine connection.
  • Social Media Insights & Analytics:
  • Analyze social media performance to gauge the success of campaigns and content, making adjustments as needed to optimize engagement and sales.
  • Provide insights on customer preferences based on reactions and engagement to help inform product design direction.
  • Email Marketing:
  • Create and send compelling email marketing campaigns to our subscribers, promoting new products, seasonal offers, and relevant content.
  • Track and analyze email performance and optimize campaigns for maximum engagement.
  • Sales & Retail Contribution:
  • Help drive retail sales through effective and engaging social media posts, promotions, and product highlights.
  • Develop content that not only educates but also encourages purchases, utilizing compelling calls to action.
  • Paid Advertising & Campaign Management:
  • You’ll be the mastermind behind our paid advertising campaigns on Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and TikTok, making sure any ads are not only eye-catching but also drive conversions.
  • Use your knowledge of targeting, audience segmentation, and budget management to maximize the reach and effectiveness of our campaigns. You’ll fine-tune ad performance and optimize for the best results.
  • Develop engaging, high-converting ad creatives (videos, graphics, copy) that align with our brand voice and catch the eye of potential customers.
  • Dive into ad analytics to track performance, measure ROI, and adjust strategies to ensure we’re getting the most bang for our buck.
  • A/B Testing: Test different ad creatives, audiences, and strategies to discover what drives the best results—and constantly be improving!

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a social media manager, content creator, or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful social media campaigns. Don't know if you're the best match? Apply anyway! We want someone with passion and excitement for this role, and it might be you :-)
  • Expertise in social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest, with a deep understanding of their unique features, audiences, and best practices.
  • Skilled in video creation and editing, with the ability to produce high-quality, engaging content tailored to each platform.
  • Experience with analytics tools including Google Analytics, Shopify, and social media platform analytics (e.g., Facebook Insights, TikTok Analytics, and Instagram Insights). Ability to interpret data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and make data-driven decisions to optimize campaigns.
  • Strong ability to break down and digest analytics to assess performance and adjust strategies accordingly. Must be comfortable working with e-commerce and sales data to inform content strategy and optimize paid advertising campaigns.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to match the brand's voice and tone across platforms.
  • Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, with a passion for storytelling and developing fresh content ideas that resonate with audiences.
  • Experience with paid advertising on social media platforms (Meta/Facebook & Instagram ads, TikTok ads), including targeting, budget management, and A/B testing to drive conversions and maximize ROI.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensuring content is aligned with brand guidelines and the company’s mission.
  • Passion for wildlife conservation and an enthusiasm for promoting environmental causes through creative content.
