Job Description
JMS Russel Metals is looking for an experienced Inside Sales Representative to join our Decatur, AL location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Utilize sales and product knowledge to promote the company’s products and increase customer base
- Call potential and existing customers to sell the company’s products and services
- Set profit margins and pricing for regular orders, large orders and quotes
- Procure and purchase products to fulfill orders
- Monitor technical and business objectives of prospective customers
- Negotiate and prepare material bids for significant clients by setting pricing and profit margins and formulating all plan details
- Provide purchasing feedback as it relates to inventory levels, dead stock and new product evaluation
- Maintain acceptable profit margins to maintain/increase company’s over-all financial health
- Monitor quality control and implement operating practices to ensure customer satisfaction
- Monitor ship dates and back orders
- Supervise billing and delivery of product to customers
- Build and maintain customer relationships
- Setup and maintain customer data base
- Work cohesively with outside sales team
- Maintain customer satisfaction (product accuracy, delivery, billing)
- Participate in on-call sales schedules
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have at least 2-5 years sales and/ or customer service experience
- Steel Industry experience preferred (Please clearly highlight the steel experience on your resume)
- Prior experience in metals/steel industry
- Customer focus and relationship building abilities
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Effective listening and communications skills (verbal & written)
- Strong organizational skills and accuracy are a must
- Proficient Computer Literate – MSOffice – Advanced Excel abilities
- Mathematical skills to calculate profit percentages, margins, totals, inventory levels etc.
- A professional, helpful demeanor both on the phone and in person
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
