Job Overview
We are seeking a Client Accountant to join our firm. This position will be responsible for managing the accounting function for several small business clients, which includes ensuring each client keeps accurate and organized financial records, manages accounts payable and/or accounts receivable efficiently, and obtains key financial insights from their accounting data.
Duties
- Maintain organized QuickBooks Online files for multiple companies.
- Check transaction entry and categorization for checking account and credit card.
- Manage accounts payable; set up vendors, collect documents, pay bills, and issue 1099s.
- Interpret and forecast client cash positions and communicate any needs in a timely manner.
- Document expenses; collect invoices and receipts, and store them securely.
- Filing and payment of sales tax, excise tax, and property tax.
- Month-end reporting; reconcile accounts, compare projections to actuals, compile financial reports, and provide analysis and insights.
- Lead project on income tax return filing; prepare financial statements, communicate with tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate returns.
- Manage client relationships and communication.
Requirements
- Proficient to advanced in QuickBooks Online (experience managing multiple company files preferred).
- Intermediate knowledge of basic accounting principles (bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred).
- Experience in or intimate knowledge of small business accounting processes, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, financial reporting, budgeting, different business types, and tax implications (LLCs, partnerships, corporations, etc.).
- Familiarity with Google Drive file management, Gmail, cloud bill pay software, and accounting task management software.
