We are currently seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and driven Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their career in accounting within the manufacturing industry. The Accounting Assistant will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for assisting with the management of our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and a working knowledge of GL, Accounts Payable, and A / R.
Responsibilities :
1. Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
2. Handle the company's accounts payable and receivable.
3. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts by maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts; verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions; and resolving discrepancies.
4. Maintain general ledger (GL) by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
5. Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
6. Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures and complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
7. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
8. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
9. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications :
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
2. Proven experience with GL, Accounts Payable, and A / R.
3. Excellent computer skills with experience in accounting software, MS Excel in particular.
4. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
5. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred.
6. Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
10. A proactive approach to work, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
